It’s the end of an era: the Gossip Girl series finale is happening Monday, December 17, 2012 at 8/7c with a special two-hour presentation. What better a way to say goodbye to your most beloved show than with your best friends? Here’s your checklist for throwing the ultimate GG finale watch party!
The Invite – Ask yourself: WWGGD (What Would Gossip Girl Do?) The Answer? A text blast, of course! Here’s a message template: Spotted: YOU, at my Gossip Girl finale watch party. 7pm December 17 at [insert address here] You know you love me. XOXO
The Dress Code – Tell friends to dress up in their chicest outfits. Have some extra headbands sitting out on a table so that girls can grab them if they don’t show up with one.
Music – Before the show starts, have the soundtrack be music from the series. You can find the playlists on Spotify.
Food – Serve fine dining options and give them Gossip Girl-themed names like Blair Waldorf Salad, Chuck’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Serena’s Sips (hot tea), etc. And for dessert? Macarons!
Activities – Create a Gossip Girl trivia game to play before the show (see Gossip Girl cast trivia, Season 4 trivia, Season 5 trivia, and Gossip Girl quotes for ideas). Another fun option would be to put up a large photo of Chuck Bass and cut out paper lips and have your friends try to “Pin the Kiss on the Basstard” while blind-folded.
